The maize smut ( kaliPoke in Nepali) a fungal pathogen has a promisingly increased market in latin America as a food stuff.In rural part of Nepal some people also use the Kalipoke to make pickle. It might be strange us to hear that Mexican intentionlly introduced that pathogen for commercial production.
